pH Down is a straightforward solution for growing media and reservoirs that become too alkaline due to natural changes in the environment. Water that is too high in pH may prevent plants from accessing the nutrients normally available to them.
Not only does this waste growers’ money, but it risks stunted growth, yellowing, and further danger of pests and diseases due to the plant’s vulnerability. pH Down corrects alkalinity levels with no disruption to plants or their surrounding micro-life.
Fast, gentle correction
The Emerald Harvest range is fully pH buffered and growers should rarely have problems with fluctuations if used correctly.
However, should levels rise too high, a small amount of pH Down will restore the balance in seconds.
No stress to plants
A sudden influx of acid could be just as dangerous to a plant as a high pH. pH Down uses a weak acid to quickly but gently bring levels to their appropriate range.
Unlike stronger solutions, it is friendly to the root system and carries no danger of stress to plants.
Where to use Emerald Harvest pH Down?
Use in any growing media where the pH is too high (alkaline). Growers may identify this with a reading over 6.5, or by noticing dark spots, yellowing, curling, or leaf necrosis on plants. These may be signs of other common plant diseases, so it is always best to conduct a pH test before attempting to correct acidity levels.
Mix into your usual nutrient solution and apply during your usual watering routine.
How to use Emerald Harvest pH Down?
Apply a very small amount at a time. Stir thoroughly and take a reading after each application until the nutrient solution reaches the required acidity level.
For most hydroponically grown plants, the ideal pH range is between 5.5 and 6.5.
Take extreme caution when using this product as it can cause severe skin burns and eye damage. It is recommended that users wear appropriate protective equipment such as gloves, an apron, splash goggles, and a vapor respirator.
pH Down may also be corrosive to metals.
Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
